Situated in the Haut Forez, the former sheep-farming buildings of the Jasseries de Garnier mark the entrance to the Hautes Chaumes, summer pastures where daffodils and narcissi bloom in the spring and bilberries abound in summer. This place has long been occupied by man in the jasseries, home of Fourme de Montbrison parsley-flavoured cheese, which is an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. It's a place where the concepts of terroir and produce really come into their own, something you can experience by stopping off at a jasserie restaurant which serves up authentic and generous home-cooked dishes.
